The Adult Education Center serves Butler County, Missouri and the surrounding areas in the 8th Congressional District. Our goal is to build a community where people are empowered to improve their life and family through the achievement of academic and career goals.
The first step in seeking adult education is to request an appointment to set goals. That can be done by phone (573) 772-2879 or email "[email protected]".

At their first meeting, adults will get help setting goals for their education and be given two options:
1. Enroll in HISET prep classes (provided in partnership with Missouri State University).
2. Enroll in the Diploma Program to earn their high school diploma (which will be conferred by Westwood Baptist Academy).
*classes are taught by a State of Missouri Certified Adult Education Teacher.
Students may also be offered referral services to other educational or job-training programs in our area, including the Office of Workforce Development and the Missouri Job Center.
The Adult Education Center will help facilitate the educational process from initial evaluation through completion of the student's educational goals by providing direct instruction, tutoring, resource access, and/or coordination of services.
We know that each person has a unique path in life, and everyone has a different level of ability. The education and resources provided by the Adult Education Center will be tailored to fit the individual student's needs and learning abilities.
