History
The Timothy Foundation, a faith-based 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 2021 after more than ten years of working with the addicted through the RU Recovery Program of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. During that time, many RU students had basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter that needed to be met before they could focus on overcoming their addiction. Once those needs were met, the students were better able to receive the Truth that could set them free.
Over 82% of the RU graduates found freedom from the strongholds that once consumed them, but many lacked basic training in life skills. Many of them had never completed high school, and some desired to further their education. The Timothy Foundation was established to help meet those needs through the Helping Hands Ministry, the Adult Education Program, and the SEMO Bible Institute.
Our overall mission is to build strong communities by empowering individuals to improve their lives by providing or connecting clients with a variety of adult education programs. We will also meet the basic needs of clients and their families – with food and clothing – while giving hope, encouragement, and skills aimed at independence.
We serve Butler County, Missouri and the surrounding areas to include the 8th Congressional District. We specifically target individuals and families who are facing substance abuse, mental health issues, the homeless, and the economically disadvantaged.
