An Adult Discipleship & Training Program

SEMO Bible Institute

Picture
The primary mission of the SEMO Bible Institute is training lay leaders for ministry in the local church. These lay leaders will then be better prepared to coach, mentor, and disciple others.
Classes with the SEMO Bible Institute are taught by local church leaders in partnership with the Evangelical Training Association.
Upon completion of 40 instructional hours, SEMO Bible Institute students can receive one of four different Church Ministries certificates. These are Foundational Church Ministries, Standard Church Ministries, Advanced Church Ministries, and Leadership in Church Ministries.

Winter/Spring 2023 Classes
Begins Wednesday, January 25th

Course Information
Understanding People - Monday - 6pm-7:30pm
Teacher: Shawn Stricklin
Description: To truly minister to all types of people, we must first understand them. In order to do so, we must combine the formal study of developmental issues with our own observations and thorough study of the Scriptures. In this course, cognitive, socioemotional, biological and spiritual development is addressed for each major age group. By examining these factors, this course helps prepare the lay leader to minister to people more effectively during every stage of life.

The Truth About Worldviews - Wednesday - 6pm-7:30pm
Teacher: Wes Tayloe
Description: In a world where multiple "truths" abound, this course will inform the student about worldviews and how they differ from Christianity. The course analyzes the main world religions, cults, and philosophical systems and contrasts them to Biblical Christianity. The ultimate goal of this course is to help the student build bridges of understanding with people of different faiths that will allow them to witness for Christianity.

Winter/Spring 2023 Classes

We would like to thank you for taking the time to explore the SEMO Bible Institute’s website. Whether you are a curious guest or a prospective student, we sincerely appreciate your interest in our ministry training program. Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with what we are all about and ask yourself if a theologically sound, biblically based entry-level ministry training program is something the Lord may be leading you to pursue.
Here at SEMO Bible Institute each and everyone of our faculty members has a passion to commit to faithful men and women of God the things which we have learned from God’s Word so that they in turn may be “able to teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:2). Our purpose is to provide our students with the biblical tools, knowledge, and desire necessary to “study to show (themselves) approved unto God” while developing the ability to “rightly divide the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). Our prayer is that our students successfully complete the Bible institute course of study and be better equipped “for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12).
SEMO Bible Institute – Training Lay Leaders for Ministry. Are you ready to answer the call to lay leadership within the local church? Contact our office today for more information on how you may become a student.
